Ambiance and Setting @ 8 Brothers

Unlike some of our previous seafood excursions, “8 Brothers” boasts a modern and comfortable setting. The clean and contemporary décor adds to the overall pleasant dining experience.

The Menu @8 Brothers: A Steamy Dilemma

Tgs.

he menu at “8 Brothers” is straightforward yet intriguing, offering two primary styles of steaming seafood: the “seafood tower” and the “pirate ship” versions. Deciding between these options was a bit of a challenge, as each offers a unique dining experience:

  • Seafood Tower: There are two versions available. The 1688 NTD set includes 1 lobster, sea bass, milk fish, scallops, squids, prawns, and clams, along with chicken soup with vegetables, rice, bread, and a choice of 2 drinks. The 2688 NTD version elevates the feast with an extra lobster, beef, pork belly, and fries, though it omits the milk fish.
  • Pirate Ship: This option is available in two sizes. The 2888 NTD version serves 2-4 people, while the 3888 NTD version caters to 4-6 people. Both include lobster, prawns, daily catch, clams, scallops, and abalone. You also have the choice to add a meat option.

We opted for the 1688 NTD seafood tower, as we were a party of four and wanted to sample a variety of seafood without overindulging. Additionally, we ordered a carbonara to satisfy our pasta cravin

Seafood Tower Experience @8 Brothers

The seafood tower was a delight. Each layer of the tower contained a different type of seafood, making for a visually appealing and flavorful experience. The portions were generous, and the seafood was exceptionally fresh and perfectly steamed.

  • Clams: A standout, these were plump, juicy, and irresistibly sweet.
  • Milk Fish: Tender and fresh, it added a lovely textural contrast to the dish.
  • Chicken Soup: The base was simple yet satisfying. The restaurant’s attention to detail was evident—they allowed us to sample the soup first to ensure it was to our liking before finalizing the tower. Although different from previous versions we’ve tried, the soup was pleasant and allowed the natural flavors of the vegetables to shine.

The carbonara was a nice addition, offering a creamy and comforting balance to the seafood feast.

We’re already planning our next visit to explore the pirate ship version and dive deeper into the seafood adventure. If you’re in Taichung, don’t miss out on this standout dining experience!
