During our latest staycation at Marina Bay Sands, my family and I eagerly sought out new dining experiences, and one standout was Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. Renowned as the best American restaurant at MBS, this gem promised an unforgettable Southern feast. Even though we faced Friday evening traffic and arrived later than planned, the warm welcome and prompt service made our visit exceptional. Our culinary adventure began with the Chef’s Tasting Set, priced at $88, which offered a curated selection of Southern classics. This set included deviled eggs, fried green tomato & crispy pork belly, roasted young hen, and a dessert. We also indulged in Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken ($38), Mac & Cheese ($14), and Truffle Fries ($15). Although we had initially wanted to try the Scallop & Chorizo Pasta, it was unfortunately unavailable by the time we arrived.

Side Dishes:
We opted for the Mac & Cheese and Truffle Fries as sides. While we were tempted by the lobster mac and cheese, we were advised it might be too much for us to handle, so we settled for the classic version. The plain mac & cheese did not disappoint, and the truffle fries were equally fantastic. We couldn’t finish them, so we packed the leftovers to enjoy later.

Main Course:
The roasted young hen was a standout. Presented as a whole chicken, it was seasoned with crushed chilies, chimichurri, and lime. The result was a beautifully roasted bird with a perfect balance of spicy and refreshing notes. The meat was impressively tender and juicy, including the usually drier chicken breasts.

Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken also lived up to its name. The crispy skin and flavorful meat, paired with refreshing watermelon pieces, made each bite irresistible. The fried chicken was indeed finger-licking good, with well-marinated, juicy pieces.

Dessert:
The meal concluded with the deep-fried Oreos, a part of the Chef’s Tasting Set. Served with cookies and cream ice cream and crispy rice cereal, this dessert was a delightful end to our meal. Simple yet delicious, it provided the perfect sweet note to our Southern feast.

With its inviting atmosphere, outstanding Southern cuisine, and warm hospitality, it’s a dining experience you won’t want to miss. Despite missing a few dishes, the ones we enjoyed made our visit memorable. For an authentic taste of Southern comfort in MBS, Yardbird is an absolute must-visit.
