After a restful afternoon in our apartment, we decided to explore downtown Mandurah for a bite to eat. That’s when we discovered Mandurah Wood Stone Cafe—a cozy spot with a sustainable vibe and delicious, generously portioned dishes. Intrigued by its charm, we couldn’t resist stopping in for a relaxed dinner that turned out to be one of our best finds in Mandurah!
Cozy Ambience @ Wood & Stone Cafe
When we arrived, the cafe was comfortably filled—not too crowded, yet lively enough to create a welcoming atmosphere. The cozy ambiance immediately put us at ease. As we were led to our seats, I noticed something unique about the tables—they were all recycled, with special mentions attributing where they originally came from. This thoughtful detail highlighted the sustainability culture that’s very much alive in Australia, and it added a charming touch to the dining experience.
Comforting Food @ Wood & Stone Cafe
For our group of five (1 senior, 1 child, 1 sick individual, and 2 ladies), we decided to share a few dishes: a single cheeseburger ($22), a beef brisket dinner ($37), and barramundi ($38). Like our lunch earlier, the portions here were impressively generous.
Barramundi: The barramundi was the first to arrive, and it was a delight. Pan-fried to perfection, the fish was served atop a mountain of potatoes, accompanied by clams that were both sweet and fresh—you could practically taste the ocean. The fish itself was tender, not dry at all, and the potatoes soaked up the delicious gravy, making each bite a satisfying blend of flavors.
Beef Brisket: Next up was the beef brisket, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The brisket was soft and tender, a result of long hours of slow cooking. It wasn’t dry in the slightest, with just the right amount of fat that paired wonderfully with the meat. Like the barramundi, the brisket came with a generous portion of potatoes, making it a hearty dish that left us more than satisfied.
Cheeseburger: Finally, we dug into the cheeseburger. The beef patty was juicy and flavorful, and the soft bun paired perfectly with the melty cheese. It was a classic done right, and the rich taste of the beef was the highlight.
Overall, our meal at Wood & Stone Cafe was thoroughly enjoyable. The portions were large enough for all of us to share, and we left the cafe feeling full and content. The combination of fresh, well-prepared food and the cafe’s cozy, sustainable ambiance made it a memorable dining experience. If you’re ever in Mandurah, Wood & Stone Cafe is definitely worth a visit!
