Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing the ultimate Japanese buffet at Hut Sake Bar, a dining destination renowned for its premium and luxurious à la carte buffets. This Japanese Buffet Hut Sake Bar review will take you through an indulgent journey featuring sumptuous platters of sea urchin, scampi, ootoro, oysters, abalone, engawa, ebi, lobster, snow crabs, and wagyu beef. Dive into the delightful array of dishes and discover why this place is a must-visit for Japanese food lovers in Malaysia.
The Menus
Hut Sake Bar offers three different menus:
- Premium: RM 268 for weekday lunch
- Supreme: RM 468 for weekday lunch
- Luxurious: RM 868 for weekday lunch
Due to a late arrival (we underestimated our travel time and had trouble finding the restaurant), we opted for the Premium menu. The Supreme and Luxurious menus offer additional items like abalone, uni & ikura donburi, chutoro sashimi, and foie gras sando.
The Dining Experience @ Hut Sake Bar
Despite being an hour late, the staff accommodated us warmly. We quickly placed our orders and were promptly served the Ponzu Jelly Oyster, aka ebi sashimi, and various types of sashimi, such as salmon belly and chutoro. The oysters were creamy, plump, and springy, while the sashimi was sliced generously thick, highlighting the freshness of the fish.
Next up were the Elite Platter and Premium Platter. The Elite Platter included lobster, and both platters featured two servings of caviar, which my son particularly enjoyed. An interesting and delightful surprise was the TRIO cones: a caviar cone, an ikura cone, and a uni cone.
Although we were getting full, we savored some starters like chuka hotate, chuka wakame, and boiled tako wasabi, which helped with digestion. For chawanmushi lovers, there are three varieties: basic, uni, and ikura.
The Chutoro Donburi is a must-order, and there is a wide selection of donburi and pasta dishes. The Premium buffet also includes all-you-can-drink options with a variety of cocktails, fruit juices, beer, and a freezer stocked with Haagen-Dazs ice cream.
Final Thoughts about Hut Sake Bar
In conclusion, this Japanese Buffet Hut Sake Bar review highlights the Premium À La Carte Buffet as one of the best Japanese buffets in Malaysia. The quality of the food, generous portions, and variety of dishes offer great value for money. Remember, punctuality is key as the dining time is limited to 1.5 hours from your reservation time. We found the food quality alone worth it.
If you’re in Kuala Lumpur and seeking a luxurious Japanese dining experience, Hut Sake Bar should be at the top of your list. Just make sure to arrive on time to fully enjoy their extensive offerings!
